Valériane Leblond Exhibition - 2016

valeriane exhibition 2016

The exquisite work of artist Valériane Leblond is our first exhibition in Gallery 3.

Valériane Leblond is a French artist living in Wales. Her work is heavily influenced by the hills of mid-Wales and the cliffs of Cardigan Bay. She paints on wood mainly and creates images of the rural landscape, coastal villages and their people at work. Valériane's work is detailed and painstaking - beaches of stone being washed by the sea, fields surrounded by hedges and familiar whitewashed cottages.

We have to admit a special interest, as many of her pictures feature quilts inspired by the Jen Jones Collection. This is how she descibes her inspiration:

"Going for walks always provides new findings and is an inspiration to me. I lose myself amidst the wild plants and animals, the old cottages and ruins, the aspects and colours which are so unique to this beautiful part of the world."

Valeriane's work will be exhibited in Gallery 3 from March 5th 2016. The Welsh Quilt Centre shop will have a selection of her prints and cards on sale from the 5th March onwards.
