Welsh Quilt Centre

What's in the Welsh Quilt Centre.

The Welsh Quilt Centre opened in Lampeter Town Hall in 2009 to celebrate the Welsh Quilt and to promote a wider understanding of the importance of this regional art form.

Here you can enjoy stunning exhibitions of Welsh Quilts in the gallery, attend quilt-related courses or just browse the intriguing Welsh Quilt Centre Gallery Shop. The original cottage shop in Llanybydder also remains open.

We hope that we can bring the attention of the world to this wonderful craft and to put the Welsh quilt into the context of the farms, valleys and towns where they were made. The centre also provides a focus for a historical archive of Welsh Quilting in Wales and the wider world.

The Welsh Quilt Centre is a private venture. The Welsh Assembly provided a business development grant to cover part of the initial funding and Cadw grant aided the historic building repairs. The Centre is actively seeking more funding for ongoing development of the project.
